Recognizing the unique needs of adolescents facing such situations, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Save the Children have developed a toolkit to help managers of humanitarian programs and health providers to cover needs sexual and reproductive health of adolescents. The Toolbox for sexual and reproductive health of adolescents in humanitarian crises [1] was designed as a document accompanying practice of inter-agency Field Manual on Reproductive Health in Humanitarian Settings [2]. Depuis début 2010, la Boîte à outils pour la santé sexuelle et reproductive des adolescents en situations de crise humanitaire a été utilisée pour contribuer au renforcement des services et programmes destinés aux adolescents dans plusieurs contextes humanitaires, comme la situation post-tremblement de terre en Haïti, la crise des réfugiés libyens de 2011, et les camps de Dollo-Ado en Éthiopie.
Nevertheless, efforts to reach adolescents and genuinely engage with them in emergency situations and provide information and global services in terms of sexual and reproductive health are still in their infancy. While it is true that some organizations are committed to integrate a line of work on adolescents in their sexual and reproductive health programs, in general the intentional targeting this age group still does too often thought post blow, and the implementation of a truly effective and substantial participation of adolescents remains difficult although a number of empirical evidence have shown unequivocally damages incurred because of the vulnerabilities specific to them.
